Authorities in the USA Slow to Act Againts Ponzis
If I was head of the FBI or something like that, I'd like to think that I'd run things like this. Many people have suspicions of a ponzi scam, then I would dispatch agents immediately to investigate. The agents would say: "show me your books". This would pretty much immediately let them know if the organization was a ponzi or not; wouldn't it?
If it was a ponzi, then I'd make them stop operations immediately and take the owners into custody and let the judicial system throw the book at them.
Doesn't this seem to make more sense than the current system of letting ponzis operate for many months and/or years on end?
I don't understand why in this day and age of high technology and enlightenment that ponzis can't be shutdown immediately?
